The Volkswagen Golf Just Got Better

Introducing the All New Golf GTI and Golf R Car buyers have always had a soft spot for the VW Golf. Although this small hatchback is fairly understated compared to the likes of the towering Tiguan and Atlas, it’s one of those cars you can’t help but fall in love with when you finally drive one. It’s small in size, but big on speed and handling. There’s no corner it can’t take. It also knows a little something about how to be efficient. The Golf’s fuel economy (29 city/39 highway) make it equally equipped for daily commutes to the office and cross-country road trips. When people think of fun and affordable hatchbacks, they naturally think of the VW Golf. Whether you’re a longtime fan of this little speedster or hearing about it for the first time, there are some great things coming down the pipe from Volkswagen. The next generation of the VW Golf for sale will officially be on the market by Q4 of 2020. Buyers will have two options from the Mk8 line-up of Golf vehicles: the Type R and the GTI. We’ll break these down so you have a better idea of how they compare to prior iterations of the Golf and each other. New Golf, New Look, New Attitude Don’t think of the new Golf as a complete overhaul of this beloved vehicle. The Mk8 line-up definitely has some differences, but the new Type R and GTI still maintain that classic Golf spirit while making some notable improvements. What you’ll notice immediately with the Mk8 is the design is sleeker and sportier. The raked hood and other new design elements give off street racer vibes. However, some elements we’ve kept exactly the same, such as the distinctive C-pillar. Looking at the specs and build of the Mk8, we’re still using the same wheelbase dimensions at the Mk7 (103.6 inches). Comparing the GTI to the Type R, their physical dimensions are almost identical. The Golf GTI is 168.8 inches long and 57.6 inches in height. The Golf R is a shade bigger, clocking in at 168.9 inches long and 57.7 inches in height. Both cars are the same exact width at 70.4 inches. On the interior of both Mk8 versions, there is 91.9 cubic ft. of space for passengers and 19.9 cubic ft. of cargo space (34.5 cubic ft. with the seats folded down). Both the GTI and R Type feature a 2.0L turbocharged direct-injection TSI engine that can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG dual clutch automatic transmission. As far as the Golf goes, the Mk8 is the most powerful version VW has ever released. The interior got some serious revamping. Whereas most auto makers try to add more buttons and levers, we streamlined the look and feel with a “less is more” approach. The instrument panel previously seen on the Mk7 has been upgraded to a 10.25-inch customizable touchscreen. This gives drivers a central control system for all their features, menu options, and infotainment. If you want to adjust the vibe in the car, change the interior lighting to an ambient or vibrant color of your choice (yes, you can do that now). As our customers have come to expect with prior iterations of the VW Golf, the Mk8 line-up comes standard with a full set of safety features. Our IQ.Drive offers enhanced driver-assistance and safety aids such as lane assist, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. Expect the Mk8 Golf to raise the bar previously set by the Mk7 Golf. Drivers should see increased performance, better handling, and more standard equipment and improved tech features. 2022 Golf GTI Considering that we made a vast number of improvements from the Mk7 to the Mk8 Golf models, one might expect to see those changes reflected in a hefty price increase. However, Volkswagen isn’t like other car manufacturers. We price our cars competitively to every other car out there on the market – including ourselves. The current Mk7 VW Golf GTI has a starting MSRP of $28,695. By comparison, the starting MSRP for the Mk8 VW Golf GTI S trim level will be $29,545 upon release. The GTI has two additional trim levels beyond the S level. The GTI SE has a starting MSRP of $34,295 and offers a full suite of standard and luxury features. The highest-level trim is the GTI Autobahn, which starts at $37,995 MSRP. As previously mentioned, the Golf GTI runs on a 2.0L turbocharged engine. It produces 241 horsepower (up 13 hp from the Mk7) and 273 Lb-ft. of torque. All the GTI’s power is sent directly to the front wheels via the paddle shifters. Managing the torque steer is an electronically-controlled torque sensing limited-slip VAQ differential. The Mk8 VW GTI allows drivers to customize their driving experience with the ability to adjust traction and stability control, a feature no previous iteration has had. 2022 Golf R Don’t call it a comeback. Although the VW Golf R has been MIA from the Volkswagen line-up for the past three years, it’s returning with a fresh look and some major improvements under the hood. For those that are familiar with the prior iteration of the Golf R, expect a new and improved version with precise handling and brand-new cabin displays. The VW Golf R is available in one trim level and has a starting MSRP of $43,645. It’s a bit pricier than the GTI; however, we can say with no ego that this is by far and away the most advanced version of the Golf ever manufactured. The Golf R is fully-loaded in every sense of the word, right down to the heated steering wheel and Nappa leather-upholstered cabin. It’s got every feature imaginable, including the ever-popular Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro with 10.25-inch display. The Golf R can be outfitted with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission. Like the Golf GTI, the Golf R also has a 2.0L turbocharged engine under the hood. However, the Type R gives drivers 315 horsepower and 295 Lb-ft. of torque, solidifying it as the highest-performing Golf of the Mk8 line-up. It comes with an improved 4Motion all-wheel drive that applies the perfect amount of torque to each wheel, which yields superior cornering capabilities. What’s Next for the New 2022 Golf? There’s probably a lot of you out there who can’t wait to test drive the new Mk8 Golf. We’re pretty excited to test drive it ourselves. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait just a bit longer before the new Golf hits the showroom floor. It’s due to be released by the end of 2021. Our advice is to keep checking back with our site for news. Once the new Volkswagen Golf is for sale and ready for test driving, we’ll be sure to post about it on the homepage. If you’re eyeing something a little bigger than the Golf, we have a wide assortment of sedans, subcompact SUVs, and full-size SUVs. Volkswagen Lee’s Summit has both used and new cars for sale. No matter what your budget is, we can help find the perfect VW vehicle for you. We’re conveniently located at 2225 NE Independence Ave in Lee’s Summit. The Fuel Economy of Volkswagen SUVs Will Shock You!

How the VW Family of SUVs Can Save You Money at the Pump We all know the old stigma associated with SUVs. They guzzle so much gas that you’ll go broke trying to keep them fueled. In the case of the infamous Humvee that may have been true, but things in the car manufacturing world have greatly improved over the past three decades. SUVs are finally to the point where they can provide drivers with the best of both worlds – fuel-economy with tons of interior space and storage. If you’ve been searching terms like “ used cars for sale” or “ new cars for sale” in an attempt to find that perfect vehicle, then look no further than your local Volkswagen dealer. We carry some of the most high-performing and feature-packed SUVs in the entire automotive industry. And you can bet your bottom dollar we made sure they’re fuel-efficient. Here’s a breakdown of some of our top SUVs when it comes to fuel economy. You can find any of these at your local Volkswagen dealer. 2021 VW Tiguan - Fuel economy: 23 city/29 highway The Volkswagen Tiguan is easily one of the most popular vehicles that VW has ever released. Reviewers and customers alike have nothing but great things to say about our rendition of the full-size SUV. It’s beautifully designed with tons of storage and plenty of power under the hood. It’s also loaded with all the latest and greatest in safety features, which is why it was rated as a 2021 IIHS Top Safety Pick when equipped with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) with dynamic cornering headlights. As far as fuel economy is concerned, 23 city/29 highway is fantastic for an SUV of this size. 2021 VW Tiguan at-a-glance Starting MSRP (base trim): $25,245 Fuel economy: 23 city/29 highway Engine type: 2.0L Turbo Horsepower: 184 hp Torque: 221 Lb-ft. Height: 66.3 in. 2022 VW Taos – Fuel economy: 28 city/36 highway New to the game is the 2022 VW Taos, which is our take on the subcompact style of SUVs. One of the big things that we love about the Taos is the price. When someone comes into our dealership and asks for the most affordable SUV that we have, we point right at the Taos. The starting MSRP for the base trim level is $22,995. Another check in the win column for the Taos is its fuel economy, which clocks in at an efficient 28 mpg in the city and 36 on the highway. Although you sacrifice a bit on size and storage when comparing it to the Tiguan, the Taos wins on gas and pricing. Starting MSRP (base trim): $22,995 Fuel economy: 28 city/36 highway Engine type: 1.5L TSI Horsepower: 158 hp Torque: 184 Lb-ft. Seating capacity: 5 passengers Cargo volume: 65.9 cubic ft. We’re talking, of course, about the all-new 2021 Volkswagen ID.4, which is our modern and all-electric take on the SUV. The ID.4 has been independently tested and verified to travel up to 260 miles on a single charge, so you won’t feel like you’re chained to a charging station. It also offers a luxurious interior with lots of room for passengers and cargo space, just as you’d expect from any SUV. Although the ID.4 is new to the SUV game, it’s already making a name for itself. The ID.4 was declared World Car of the Year at the 2021 World Car Awards. If you’ve never considered switching over to an all-electric vehicle before, now is the time to do it. 2021 VW ID.4 at-a-glance Starting MSRP (base trim): $39,995 (as low as $32,495 after potential federal tax credit) Estimated range (single charge): 260 miles Estimated charging time (at public DC fast charger): 62 miles after 10 minutes of charging Engine type: electric Horsepower: 201 hp Torque: 228 Lb-ft. Which Car or SUV is the Best Fit for Your Back to School Needs

How to Choose the VW SUV That’s Right for You Back to school season means that parents will be making more daily trips, hauling around more gear, and doing more waiting in the school’s pick-up line. Collectively, you and your kids will be spending a lot more time in the car. If you’ve been searching terms like “ used cars for sale” or “ new cars for sale” trying to find that perfect back to school vehicle, Volkswagen has more than a few choices that both parents and kids love. VW Jetta - The Best Car for Fuel Economy Parents get pretty excited when they see the starting MSRP for the 2021 VW Jetta is $18,995. It’s one of the most competitively priced cars out there on the market. However, the category where the Jetta wins big is on fuel economy. Parents know that when school starts back up, it means their time on the road will kick up significantly. Great gas mileage is priority number one for parents who are on a budget, and the Jetta delivers that in spades with 30 mpg in the city and a whopping 41 mpg on the highway. When you factor in all the safety and convenience features, not to mention the modern and roomy interior, the VW Jetta is a lot of car for such a small price tag. VW Atlas – The Best Car for Big Families A sedan is going to work for families with one or two kids, but a large family dynamic requires a larger vehicle. This officially puts you in SUV territory. Not only are you going to need more room for passengers, you’ll also need the additional cargo space for book bags, school projects, and sports equipment. So, what’s the solution here? You need to go big, and nothing is bigger than the Volkswagen Atlas. It is a three-row SUV that comfortably seats up to seven passengers. It’s roomy on the inside like a minivan, but is built and drives like a powerful SUV. There’s a lot of power under the hood. The 8-speed automatic 2.0L Turbo engine (also available as a 3.6L V6) offers drivers 235 horsepower with 258 Lb-ft. of torque. Best of all, the Atlas is a certified favorite among parents. Cars.com just named it the Family Car of the Year for the second year in a row and “Parents Magazine” named it as one of their Best Family Cars for the fourth year in a row. VW Taos – The Happy Medium Some sedan owners are resistant to the idea of switching over to an SUV. They either like the way their sedan handles or don’t want to lose fuel economy by making the switch. However, bigger families require more room and more storage. If you’re looking for a vehicle that provides more room but isn’t a full-scale SUV, then look no further than the all-new VW Taos. It comfortably seats five people and offers 65.9 cubic ft. of cargo volume, which should be more than enough to handle everyone’s school supplies. And don’t worry about gas mileage. The VW Taos does well in this category with 28 mpg city and 36 mpg on the highway. The Taos is also the most affordable SUV in our line-up with a starting MSRP of $22,995 – perfect for the parent who’s on a budget. This compact SUV is slick, stylish, and will impress fellow parents in the school pick-up line. Loaded with Safety and Convenience Features No matter which new VW you decide to go with, you can be sure it will come with a full range of features designed to keep your family safe as well as entertained. Parents are always traveling with precious cargo, and the Driver Assistance features from VW gives drivers a heads up when there are potential hazards in the area. They include Dynamic Road Sign Display Blind Spot Monitor Rear Traffic Alert Park Distance Control with Maneuver Braking Light Assist From a safety features perspective, VW has gone all out to ensure that parents can venture out onto the road with confidence. They include Rear View Camera System Safety Cage Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS) Automatic Post-Collision Braking System Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Additionally, all of our new vehicles feature Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, satellite radio capability, USB ports, top-of-the-line audio, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. We give drivers the best technology imaginable with plenty of ways to keep passengers entertained and comfortable. Carefree Coverage for Worry-Free Driving Purchasing a new car is a big-ticket item for most families. Volkswagen wants to assure drivers that they have protection on their new investment, which is why all new VW vehicles come with Carefree Coverage. It includes the following 2 yrs. Service - Scheduled Carefree Maintenance (2 years or 20,000 miles) 3 yrs. Help - Roadside Assistance (3 years or 36,000 miles) 4 yrs. Coverage - New Vehicle Limited Warranty (4 years or 50,000 miles) 5 yrs. Access - Car-Net Remote Access In the event that you ever need VW parts, service, or routine maintenance, you can simply stop by a VW service center. Your Carefree Coverage will appear in our records, making the process simple and easy. Test Drive a New Volkswagen Today! We’ve thrown out some solid options for your perfect back to school vehicle. New Volkswagen ID.4 sets a much higher standard for electric vehicles

In the race for electrification, nearly every auto manufacturer has plans for offering fully electric vehicles (EV's) soon. Because of this competition, EV prices are dropping and finally, are starting to be a realistic option for most people as they consider their next car -- even against traditional internal combustion engines. However, when looking forward to the models available in this segment, there is one forthcoming model that is poised to rise above the electric and internal combustion competition: the Volkswagen ID.4 from Volkswagen Lee's Summit. The new EV from VW, the ID.4 is everything you could want in a vehicle, made even better by its electrification—a true EV for the masses. Here are five reasons why you should be excited. Aggressively priced In the compact SUV segment, $30,000 - $40,000 can get you a lot for your money. Heavy hitters like the Toyota Rav4, Honda CR-V, and Mazda CX-5, all fall within this range -- but none of them offer fully electric versions of those models or the amount of advanced standard features and space that the VW ID.4 does. If EV's are what you're cross-shopping, the closest competitors are the Tesla Model Y and the upcoming Ford Mustang Mach-E (it's not a traditional Mustang, but an EV SUV wearing a Mustang badge. Yes you read that right. Heresy!) However, their expensive starting prices, starting at over $49,990 and $42,895 respectively, are out of reach for many Americans. This is where the appeal of the VW ID.4 is strong. The ID.4 is everything those vehicles are and more, albeit at a lower starting price. The ID.4 will start at $39,995 for the Pro trim level, and $43,995 for the 1st Edition, which is already sold out. Both of the stated prices are before the federal tax credit of $7,500. Compared with the higher starting prices of Tesla and Ford, the VW makes a compelling case for "the whole package" and a competitive price—not unlike the original VW Beetle of yesteryear. Enhanced standard features The attractive pricing of the ID.4 is made all the more enticing considering the vast amount of standard features included that are usually only seen on vehicles costing much more than the ID.4. Futuristic interior aside, the ID.4 is replete with features like 82kWh of battery power, heated mirrors, park distance control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, customizable ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging, a 10" color touchscreen with navigation, Forward Collision Warning, and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist), Pedestrian Monitoring (included in Front Assist), Blind Spot Monitor (Side Assist), Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Travel Assist, Lane Assist, Emergency Assist, and much more. There simply are more standard technical, safety, and interior features on the ID.4 than any other vehicle even close to this price. If the latest tech and features are important to you, especially when wrapped in a fully electric package, look no further than the VW ID.4. Maximum interior space In the ID.4, the vehicle's battery is flat, almost like a skateboard that you then put the vehicle's body on. This platform, VW's new MEB platform, is all about keeping a low center of gravity while maximizing interior space. James Tate of The Drive describes the spacious interior as "...functional, and fun, the interior feels airy, particularly considering the CUV's small size. It's easy to get in and sit down, regardless of which door you've opened." While the ID.4 is considered a compact SUV, it feels anything but compact inside. With enough room for four friends, legroom in the rear is a generous 37.6 inches, with cargo space coming in at 64.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, the ID.4 is capable of much more than its size would suggest. Driving experience So, sure, the ID.4 is affordable, spacious, and rich in standard features, but how does it drive? If reviews from reputable car review institutions like Car and Driver, and The Drive are any indication, the ID.4 is delightful. "In the solid win column, the ID.4 was clearly the best-handling machine in our trio," states Jonathon Ramsey of Car and Driver. "Steering is sharp...damping and body control are excellent...it hasn't sacrificed roominess or utility for looks. Dynamically, the little crossover already delivers, a chunky pup game to get friskier than almost any of its buyers will ever demand." With a range of 250 miles, fun driving dynamics, excellent standard features, and space to spare—not to mention never having to fill up with gas again—the ID.4 is a compelling choice for those looking for an EV that can do it all, at affordable price. Ease of ordering Curious about building one out for yourself? Meet the ID.4 here. You can go to VW Lee's Summit and start building your ID.4 so you get it just the way you want it. VW.com and see what it would look like to get an ID.4 just the way you want it. As mentioned, the 1st Editions are already sold out, but the Pro trim is still available for preorder. If you like what you see, it's best to reserve one ahead of time. It costs $100 and is refundable should you decide to wait. But, with all that the ID.4 offers, why would you? Have questions about the ID.4 or how to order? Contact Volkswagen Lee's Summit today.

National Success for Missouri Dealer Driven by a Simple but Powerful Formula

by Volkswagen Lee’s Summit Volkswagen Lee’s Summit has been the #1 Volkswagen dealer in Kansas City since its first year in business. An instant success story was unlikely for a non-domestic manufacture in the Midwest, but Jeff Davis, the Director of Operations for Volkswagen Lee’s Summit, was undeterred and set out to grow Volkswagen’s marketshare consistently and quickly. Relentless Dedication and Team Focus “We have a formula for success that started as a motivating advertising slogan but quickly turned into our path to success,” says Davis, “‘Ready, Set, Go!’ To me that means we’re all ready to give everything we’ve got every chance that we have. I expect my service and parts departments, as well as my sales, finance, and accounting departments to be driven, focused, and dialed-in every single day.” It is because of this precision and relentless dedication, Davis believes, that Volkswagen Lee’s Summit has surpassed all the other Volkswagen dealers in Kansas City and is currently ranked #13 in the Country for Volkswagen new car sales.** Volkswagen Lee’s Summit also sells more new cars than any other new car dealer in their area, even leading the market ahead of Chevy, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, and Ford for two years running.+ “The passion of our team is definitely one of the top reasons for our success,” says Davis. “We have been so fortunate to have hard-working, loyal, people who have all become family at Volkswagen Lee’s Summit.” Award-Winning Customer Service Volkswagen Lee’s Summit was recently awarded the rare and prestigious Wolfsburg Crest Club Award for the fifth year in a row, for excelling in volume sales, market penetration, and customer excellence in 2019. In order to be considered for the Wolfsburg Crest Club Award, a dealer must meet the very top-level standards in various areas, with the expected benchmarks for earning the award going far beyond sales effectiveness. Requirements also include excellence in such areas as customer engagement, service and parts, operations, and facility standards, VW Academy employee certification, and integrity in dealership finances. “We are so proud of these accolades from Volkswagen,” says Matt Ottosen, General Sales Manager. “We want people to know that when they choose Volkswagen Lee’s Summit they’ll get the right price, the right treatment, work with the best people who will do everything they can to make sure they get the right car and have an amazing experience. And when they come in for service and parts, it means they’ll be treated the right way there for the life of their vehicle!” Volkswagen Lee’s Summit is one of the few VW dealerships in the country that have won the Wolfsburg Crest Club award five years in a row! Volume Pricing and Good Deal Promise Another reason for Volkswagen Lee’s Summit’s success is their volume pricing and good deal promise. Rather than sell hundreds of cars for a larger profit, Volkswagen Lee’s Summit would rather sell thousands of cars for less profit. Why? Because lower prices mean customers will come back. In this scenario, all parties benefit. Transparent pricing is key to Volkswagen Lee’s Summit success as a dealer. Plus Volkswagen Lee’s Summit offers a 3 day car exchange guarantee - if a customer wants to change their vehicle for any reason, they can exchange it for another one within three days of purchase. “We love this business,” says Ottosen. “The joy of helping someone get the right car is unbeatable. Our sales team loves helping people buy their first car or get financed when everyone else said ‘no,’ or just saving people money because their interest rate was too high. We want our customers to have the best selection, at the best price possible, and then come back and service with us until they’re ready to buy again. We don’t want to just be a one-time dealer, we want to be their dealership forever. *Based on VW retail reports 2014-2019. ** Based on 2019 Current Year To Date Sales Rankings by Volkswagen of America +From Urban Science Data Hub Shared Sales ranking 2018-2019.

4 Reasons January is the Best Time to Buy a Volkswagen

Many people believe that the end of the year is the ideal time to buy a vehicle. But what many people do not realize that that the old adage of buying a car at the end of the year doesn’t take into consideration manufacture incentives, selection or dealership specials. In fact Volkswagen Lee’s Summit pricing on new cars in Kansas City just got BETTER in January than it was in December! Here are four reasons January is the best time to buy or lease a Volkswagen at Volkswagen Lee's Summit. Better Discounts on the Cars You Love While many other manufacturers have launched 2020’s and sometimes 2021 vehicles last year, Volkswagen has intentionally slowed it’s roll-out of new models to maximize the launch of several new vehicles and redesigned vehicles. This means that while other New Car Dealerships in Lee's Summit can only offer brand new vehicles (2020 and 2021 models) with minimal incentives on 2020 models, Volkswagen Lee's Summit still has plenty of 2019 new Volkswagen vehicles at incredible savings. In fact the discounts, leases and finance offers at Volkswagen Lee's Summit are BETTER in January than they were in December. Take a look at these discounts on new 2019 cars and SUV’s Volkswagen Lee's Summit is offering this month: 2019 Atlas SEL with Navigation and AWD is up to $6700 off MSRP* 2019 Golf GTI S - $4250 off MSRP* (our biggest discount we’ve ever had on this vehicle) 2019 Passat Wolfsburg - $5600 off MSRP! 2019 Jetta S - $3245 off MSRP* 2019 Jetta R-Line - up to $3600 off MSRP* 2019 Volkswagen Arteon SE AWD - up to $5800 off MSRP! Compare these discounts to other off-brand dealerships and you’ll see the difference. Improved Trade Offers Another great reason Kansas City shoppers should buy or lease a new car from Volkswagen Lee's Summit in January is the improved trade offer. Our dealership focuses on selling out of our used cars at the end of the year, so by the new year we are always low on inventory in our used car departments. January is a great time to buy a new car because we are eager to replenish our diminished supply of used cars. Plus Volkswagen Lee’s Summit will buy your vehicle even if you don’t buy one from us! Right now Volkswagen Lee's Summit will buy your car for its ORIGINAL BASE MSRP, deducting only for mileage, manufacturer incentives that were originally paid on the vehicle, thus lowering its value, and any damage. (2010 and newer, no high lines). We are also offering high values for vehicles older than 2010’s to help grow our used car inventory and can offer Cash for Clunkers value for them. Higher Objectives = Better Deals For You Another reason January is an ideal month for New Car Buyers in Kansas City is that Volkswagen Lee's Summit has been given a VERY high objective from our manufacturer for January that we simply have to reach in order to keep operating at top standards. What does that mean to you? It means we are EXTREMELY motivated to sell 165 new cars this month. In addition to dropping our pricing on vehicle purchases on our 2019 Volkswagen models, Volkswagen Lee's Summit has extremely aggressive lease offers as well. Plus we’re doing a 2 for 1 LOGO sale this month which means you can lease 2 cars for the price of 1! Check out our New Car Specials on our website to see a few ways you can mix and match your two favorite VW vehicles at Volkswagen Lee's Summit. Or message us and we’ll work up a lease or purchase payment on your two favorite cars. 0% Financing Available Finally, another great reason to buy a new car this month is that Volkswagen just released 0% financing OAC for 60 months on the 2019 Arteon luxury sedan! Or we have 0.9% OAC for 72 months through Volkswagen Credit Institution (VCI)! This is the lowest APR we have seen on this vehicle in all of last year!
